In 1999, Gérard Pillet is 46 years old and recovering from a serious cardiovascular condition which nearly killed him two years earlier. He also suffers from obesity (weighing 240 pounds for his 179 cm height). He decides to change his approach to food in a radical way.
With his knowledge in dietetics, he follows some simple basic rules regarding meal preparations to increase his metabolism. As a result, between September 1999 and the spring of 2000, he manages to lose 60 pounds, at which time his sleep apnea and his type 2 diabetes disappear altogether, while his cholesterol levels are restored.
Since he started following the method, his weight stabilized. He then successfully tested his weight loss method with other people. After physicians recognized and attested his method, Gérard Pillet decided to share the information about his method in order to help others.
